Chapter Spotlight – Liberty Bell...“A Day at the Races”

The Liberty Bell Chapter raised $4,100 for the Verizon Reads literacy program through an exciting event called “A Day at the Races.” More
than 30 TelecomPioneers dressed up in tuxedos to sell tickets, serve
food and coordinate the races. Attendees bought tickets to virtual horse
races, “adopted” horses and named them, and placed bets. The event
was held at Carousel House, a center in Philadelphia for youth and
adults who are disabled.

How can you help service members and their families?

In response to an e-mail message sent to all employees from Ivan Seidenberg, chairman, Verizon Communications, about the war with Iraq, many employees wrote back asking how they can help their co-workers who are on active military duty.

Verizon TelecomPioneers Help Over 100 Adopt-A-Schools

The Verizon TelecomPioneers have a rich history of providing a wide
variety of support to local schools. This month, we asked the chapters
to provide us with a list of schools they supported. We also asked what
type of support they gave the schools. The response was overwhelming.

online forum that will help you easily share ideas on fundraising, membership recruitment and retention,
and volunteer project organization.
We welcome all Pioneers and Life Members to borrow ideas from our
forum and to submit new ones. You don’t even have to be a Verizon Pioneer to participate.
