"Expansion"
This was the 10th plate
produced in the series of 12 by artist Mike Hagel exclusively for the
Telephone Pioneers of
America in 1992. They are numbered. "Expansion" is based on a 1923 Bell
System ad depicting a time when the
growth of telephone demand was so intense it exceeded the growth of the
U.S. population.
