Grandma's Hollyday
Squares
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 can cherry pie
filling
confectioners' sugar
Heat oven to 350.
Place butter in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the sugar
creaming at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one
at a time beating well after each egg. At low speed add flour and
lemon juice. Pour batter into a well greased 15 x 10 x 1 jelly
roll pan. Mark into 24 squares. Place a heaping tablespoon of pie
filling in center of each square. Bake 45-50 minutes. Remove
from oven and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Cool and cut
into squares. Your favorite pie filling can be substituted for the
cherry filling.
