Collectible Divestiture Envelopes
While cleaning out the attic of the Central Office building on 24 Federal Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts,
Pioneers discovered 250 #10 envelopes mixed in with old directory paperwork. These envelopes are a special find
because they feature a “Volunteer lend a hand” 20¢ stamp and a special postmark stamped, “Boston, MA, Dec 31 1983.”
The return address on the envelope features the Bell logo and reads, “195 Broadway Corporation, 295 North Maple Avenue,
Basking Ridge, New Jersey 07920.” The envelopes were never used. What a keepsake!
