The Maryland Chapter TelecomPioneers are holding a
Golf Ball Drop fundraising event
at Maple Run Golf Course on
Friday, September 12, 2008
in connection with our Annual Golf Tournament.
The Tickets are $5.00 a piece and that will get you a golf
ball with a number on it. On September 12, we will drop 500 or more
golf balls from a bucket truck onto a putting green. The closest
ball to the pin will win $500.00, the next 10 balls will win $50.00
each and the next 25 balls will win $25.00 each. That is a total of
36 winners. The prize money is based on the number of tickets sold,
so the prizes could change.
Please help us raise funds for our educational projects which
include:
Book’em
Maryland Chapter TelecomPioneers buy books from Scholastics and
a Pioneer volunteer will go into a school and read to the class and
leave each student with a book of there own. To date we have given
over 270,000 books over the past 12 years.
Students Under Construction
The Maryland Chapter TelecomPioneers buy school supplies, go
into a school, and set up a Pioneer Pantry. The school will come up
with one or two criteria and the students get pogs based on if they
meet the criteria. Once a month, Pioneer volunteers go into the
school and set up the pantry and the students shop for school
supplies with their pogs. To date, we have 15 schools across the
state with Pioneer Pantries in them.
