Stephen Kohn Elected VP of the V/F/T TelecomPioneers
The Verizon/Frontier/Telcordia (V/F/T) TelecomPioneers chapter delegates have voted unanimously to elect Stephen Kohn as vice president of their organization.
Mr. Kohn, who retired from Verizon in December 2003 after 32 years in the telecommunications industry, was elected to a two-year term retroactive to January 1, 2004.
“We are fortunate to have a leader with Stephen’s skills and experience step up to this challenging opportunity,” said TelecomPioneers CEO Jim Gadd.  “He has a solid foundation in the education and the non-profit communities and has earned his reputation in the industry as an accomplished strategist.”
Mr. Kohn will be responsible for the community service activities of more than 130,000 V/F/T TelecomPioneers in 19 chapters.  He will also serve as a member of the Association’s Board of Directors.
“I look forward to working with the dedicated V/F/T TelecomPioneers,” Kohn said.  “They have a tremendous impact in their communities and I am confident we will discover even more valuable opportunities to showcase the volunteer spirit of their sponsor companies and the TelecomPioneers.”

Association to Unveil New Web Site
Visitors to the TelecomPioneers Association website will find a new look and feel to the site beginning May 1. The new site is designed to make it easier for users to find the information they need.  Behind the scenes, the site should provide quicker load time, even if users are on dial-up service.
In addition, headquarters staff will have greater flexibility over the design of the pages.  This control will enable staff to refresh the look and content of pages, particularly the home page, on a more frequent basis.
“This new site incorporates positive changes that members suggested through feedback,” said TelecomPioneers Marketing Manager Rob Shamo.  “It will be easier for staff to manage the technical aspects – and a better tool for members to rely on as an information resource.”

Warren Cochran spotlighted on Habitat website
At 80-years-old and retired from NJ Bell since 1979, Warren Cochran isn't sitting still. He volunteers three days a week for the Coastal Habitat for Humanity and the Kiwanis Club. His activities with the Asbury Park Life Member Club of Telephone Pioneers include the annual sports jamboree for wheelchair and visually impaired children.
