All over the United States, the
Verizon TelecomPioneers are supporting the Salvation Army by
erecting Angel Giving Trees in their work locations. Please help the
TelecomPioneers this year by purchasing new toys and placing them
under the trees. These toys will be donated to underpriviledged
children within the zip code of your work location's tree. If your
chapter is sponsoring a Seasons
Readings Book Fair, please consider purchasing a
book and donating it to a needy child through the Angel Giving Tree
program. |

Verizon Literacy University Honored
The Verizon Literacy University (VLU) was
honored as the winner of the Outstanding Achievement in
Interactive/Online Media at the 5th Annual Literacy in Media Awards
on Nov. 6, 2003. The Literacy in Media Awards honors individuals and
productions that draw attention to the importance of reading and/or
writing through film, televison and other other media. Please check

including the new "Volunteering in English Language Learner Literacy
Classes," where you can meet several English language learners and
learn about the need for ESL classes, volunteer opportunities, and
