Give a holiday gift to
your literacy community
Join Verizon TelecomPioneers across the nation
in the holiday Verizon Reads drive to donate books and reading time
to children and adults through the company-wide Season's Readings
program. Last year, employees from more than 300 office locations
donated more than 120,000 books and pledged more than three million
minutes of reading time to children and adults. An additional
$50,000 of in-kind book donations were distributed from the proceeds
of Scholastic book fairs that were held in conjunction with Season's
Readings. All of the books and proceeds collected from the campaign
were distributed to more than 400 different organizations, including
local schools, libraries, literacy providers, and other charitable
beneficiaries. Let's surpass last year's donations! Sign up to

Trick or Suites with McCully Upstate
Four H.G. McCully Upstate councils teamed with
Embassy Suites and local businesses in Parsippany, NJ, to celebrate
Halloween with more than 150 special needs children. Businesses and
the TelecomPioneers decorated rooms on an entire floor of the
hotel. Themes included "Under the Sea" and "Mardi Gras." The
children trick or treated from room to room. The TelecomPioneers
provided treats, clowns and face painters for the party. The
Paterson-Passaic-Ridgewood Council won this year's best decorated
room with a "Texas Dude Ranch" theme.
