Volunteer time worth $17.19/hour
The time we invest in the community has increased in value to $17.19 per hour, according to the Independent Sector. The value of volunteer time is based on the average hourly earnings of all non-agricultural workers as determined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Independent Sector takes this figure and increases it by 12% to estimate for fringe benefits. In 2002-03, when the value of the volunteer hour was $16.54, Verizon TelecomPioneers contributed more than $35 million worth of service to communities throughout the U.S.

Photo Release Forms Available on Association Website
When using photographs of Pioneer events and activities, it is important to remember to use photography release forms. These forms are now available on the Association website (
www.telecompioneers.org) under the "communications" button.
The three forms posted include one for individuals over 18-years-old, one for parents/guardians and one for photographers. These forms serve as permission from the subjects of photos to be used in the communication of Pioneer-related events. The photographer's release grants Pioneers copyright/ownership of the photograph.
