Donates Graphing Calculators
Members of the Mountain Valley Empire Chapter
donated eight graphing calculators to the Special Education
Department of Washingtonville High School in New York. The TI-83
Plus graphing calculators are used by 9th through 12th grade Special
Ed students who are taking any math courses offered at the high
school level. They use them during small group instruction time away
from the regular classroom setting, before and after school to
complete homework, and also while taking classroom and state

Thomas Sherwin Chapter
Celebrates Seniors!
On Sunday, November 6, members of the Thomas
Sherwin Chapter in Boston partnered with several other non-profit
organizations to host the 28th Annual Senior Appreciation Day at
Woburn High School. The Pioneers helped provide the volunteers to
serve 800 senior citizens lunch. The seniors also enjoyed music,
raffles and a talent show after the meal. |

Stand Up For Kids
Attendees of the 2005
Verizon/Frontier/Telcordia Annual meeting held in Las Vegas November
9-11 participated in a volunteer project for Stand Up For Kids, a
national non-profit organization committed to the rescue of homeless
and street kids. The V/F/T chapters provided the hygiene products
and partner volunteers assembled more than 400 backpacks and
presented them to Brian Anderson, co-executive director, and Rick
Koca, founder and president, Stand Up For Kids. To view a copy

Scholarship applications now being accepted
Applications for the 2006 TelecomPioneers
Scholarship Program are due in to the Association office in Denver
postmarked no later than February 28, 2006. The program is open to
high school seniors who are family members of regular members, life
members, associate members and honorary members of TelecomPioneers.
The scholarship is a one-time award in an amount up to $2,000. The
funds are payable to an accredited post-secondary institution,
skill/training center, or trade school. The funds are provided to
assist students with tuition, required registration or other fees. A
minimum of two scholarships per Pioneers sponsor/group will be
awarded each academic school year. Learn

Exhibitors welcome to Orlando Annual
Meeting
Registration is now open for vendors who wish
to exhibit at the 2006 Annual Meeting Expo in Orlando. The
TelecomPioneers Association (TPA) is working to grow the exhibit
area in size and significance to benefit the exhibitors and
attendees. The TPA's goal is to provide a top quality experience for
exhibitors with improved strategies to drive traffic to the Expo

PerksCard program extended
Cardholders may now use their PerksCard through
Dec. 31, 2006. There is no additional cost or reactivation process.
New members will receive a PerksCard as a benefit and the card will
also remain in effect until Dec. 31, 2006. The PerksCard help desk
will continue to support our membership at no cost to the
organization. PerksGroup is continuing its marketing efforts to
secure vendors viewed by our members as a value-added benefit.
