Fort Pitt Chapter hosts Easter Egg Hunt
On March 21, more than 20 active and Life
Member Fort Pitt Chapter volunteers hosted the 25th Annual Easter
Egg Hunt at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind in
Oakland. Children, ages four through seven with many special needs,
participated in the egg hunt. The Pioneers provided each child with
a basket filled with candy, fruit drinks, and a stuffed bunny.
Along with the volunteers were many mascots and service dogs
that belong to Pioneers. The mascots that helped entertain and
brighten the day of these children were the Pitt Panther, the State
Farm Good Neighbor Bear, Iceberg from the Pittsburgh Penguins, and
special guest The Easter Bunny...aka the president of the Fort Pitt
Chapter, Karen Burkovich. |
