Paumanok receives kudos on school website
Verizon is featured on the St. Christopher School's website because the Paumanok Chapter surprised all the third graders in Ms. March and Mrs. Ciccone's classes with their very own dictionaries. The Dictionary Project is a Verizon TelecomPioneers program designed to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all their students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers, and creative thinkers. The school is located in Baldwin, NY. For more photos of the event, log on to the St. Christopher's
website.
If you're interested in distributing dictionaries, please contact your chapter's project chairman. The dictionary cover features the TelecomPioneer and Verizon logos.

New award guidelines
The new international TelecomPioneer award guidelines for Project:Connect feature two categories of recognition: Volunteer Implementation and Organizational Usage. The qualifying period is based on the calendar year. For details, visit the TelecomPioneers Association website.

Verizon Literacy Campus grows in 2005
If you haven’t visited Verizon Literacy Campus (VLC) lately, click on www.literacycampus.org to see how the site and resources have grown.
